Nicole Razavi MLA

Nicole Razavi has been the Minister of Transport since 2026. She is a Member of the State Parliament of Baden-Württemberg and a member of Christian Democratic Union.

Nicole Razavi was born on 20 May 1965 in Hong Kong. After completing her A-levels (Abitur) in Ebersbach an der Fils, she studied English Studies, Political Science, and Sports Science at the Universities of Tübingen and Oxford. She passed her First State Examination in 1991, followed by the Second State Examination two years later. From 1993 to 1995, Nicole Razavi served as a trainee teacher and secondary school teacher at the vocational grammar school in Feuerbach. Subsequently, she spent six years as the head of the Press and Marketing Department at the Nahverkehrsgesellschaft Baden-Württemberg, the local transport company of the state.

From 2001 to 2006, Nicole Razavi initially served as the personal assistant to the State Secretary at the Ministry of the Environment and Transport, later becoming Head of the Minister’s Office, and subsequently Office Manager for the Chairman of the CDU parliamentary group.

Between 2014 and 2021, Nicole Razavi was a member of the Göppingen District Council. From 1997 to 2019, she served as Chairwoman of the CDU District Association in Göppingen, and has been its Honorary Chairwoman since 2019. Since 2011, Nicole Razavi has been a member of the CDU Baden-Württemberg State Executive Committee, and since 2021, a member of the CDU Baden-Württemberg Presidium.

Activities as a Member of Parliament

Since 2006, Nicole Razavi has been a Member of the State Parliament for the constituency of Geislingen (11). Within the CDU parliamentary group, her roles have included Spokeswoman for Transport and Infrastructure, Parliamentary Secretary, and Deputy Chairwoman of the parliamentary group.

In Parliament, she has served on the Committee on Internal Affairs, the Petitions Committee, the Committee on the Environment, Climate and Energy, as well as the Committee on Transport and the Committee on Science, Research and the Arts.

Activities as Minister

From 2021 to 2026, Nicole Razavi served as the Minister of the newly established Ministry of Regional Development and Housing. In this role, she shaped urban development, housing, and regional planning in Baden-Württemberg for five years. In May 2026, with the start of the new legislative period, she took over the leadership of the Ministry of Transport of Baden-Württemberg.

Since 2021, Nicole Razavi has been the Chairwoman of the Board of Trustees of the Denkmalstiftung Baden-Württemberg, the states monument foundation. She is also a member and Deputy Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Landeskreditbank Baden-Württemberg, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Nürtingen-Geislingen University Foundation, and a member of the Foundation Board of the "Lebendige Stadt" (Vibrant City) Foundation.

Nicole Razavi lives in Salach; she is a passionate athlete and a state-certified ski instructor. Since 2007, she has served as the President of the Turngau Staufen e.V. gymnastics association.
